Project Spotlight: Minimalist Smart Home Shines in Park City
5 Technologies We Installed in a Luxury Utah Residence
As a smart home integrator, we occasionally complete a residential project that we’re too proud of to keep a secret. This was the case with a recent Park City home we retrofitted with smart technology and hidden AV. We installed beautiful lighting controls, a versatile home cinema, and a whole-home automation system, resulting in a seamless and stylish smart home.

Minimalist & Versatile Home Cinema
This homeowner wanted their home cinema (pictured below) to be a multi-purpose space they could use to both entertain guests and dive into movie nights. With one press of a button, the blackout shades will lower to create a home theater atmosphere even during the day. We wanted to achieve a minimalistic interior, so all surround sound speakers are hidden behind the projector screen or within the walls.
Smart Lighting Design
Lighting is essential to a home’s mood, and we configured a smart lighting system that grants the homeowner complete control. Smart wall keypads let them press ‘Bright,’ ‘Dim,’ ‘Movie,’ or ‘Shades’ to activate preferred lighting and shading settings. The LED lights automatically shift color temperature or brightness for each activity. Our lighting design accentuated the home’s best features, like the striking bookshelf below.
TRUFIG Aesthetic Outlets
What is it that makes luxury homes look so elegant? It’s that every design element has been carefully considered. While many people would leave a mismatched wall outlet to distract from décor, TRUFIG installations flush outlet covers and switches against the wall. See below how a TRUFIG finish blended the custom keypad into the wooden walls. We implemented TRUFIG across the home for a seamless appearance.
Motorized Shades & Drapes
It’s a hassle to deal with wall-sized shades and drapes every day. That’s why we installed motorized roller shades and drapes that our client can activate with one press of a button. In fact, they can lower and raise the entire house’s window treatments simultaneously. The motorized drapes (below) were nearly 20 feet tall and 35 feet wide, opening and closing instantly in one command.
Smart HVAC Controls
The house included many heating and cooling zones, but we were able to integrate them all into one interface and automation system—not an easy task! Our customer can now adjust the house’s temperature and schedule when thermostats and AC should turn on and off right from their phone or tablet.
